Ice Caps Thickening Whilst Offsets Destroy Rainforest

Here are the real research facts about Global warming and climate change :-
During the last decade, East Antarctica thickened at an average rate of about 1.8 centimetres per year. The Antarctic is so cold that even with increases of a few degrees, temperatures would generally remain below the melting point of ice. Warmer temperatures are expected to lead to more snow, which would increase the amount of ice in Antarctica, offsetting approximately one third of the expected sea level rise from thermal expansion of the oceans.

Antarctica’s Ice Cover Thickens

The lowest recorded temperature of any location on Earth surface was −93.2 °C (−135.8 °F) at 81.8°S 59.3°E, which is on an unnamed Antarctic plateau between Dome A and Dome F, on August 10, 2010. The highest temperature ever recorded in Antarctica was 14.5 °C (58.2 °F) in two places, Hope Bay and Vanda Station, on 5 January 1974.

The West Antarctic ice sheet has warmed by only than 0.1 °C/decade in the last 50 years, and was strongest in winter and spring of the 1980 & 1990s . NOT NOW! Although this is partly offset by fall cooling in East Antarctica, this effect is restricted to the 1980s and 1990s.

The British Antarctic Survey, which has undertaken the majority of Britain's scientific research in the area, has the following positions:
    •    Climate models predict more snowfall than ice melting during the next 50 years,
    •    Antarctica seems to be both warming around the edges and cooling at the centre at the same time. Thus it is not possible to say whether it is warming or cooling overall.
    •    There is no evidence for a decline in overall Antarctic sea ice extent.
    •    The area of strongest cooling appears at the South Pole, and the region of strongest warming lies along the Antarctic Peninsula only
Yet the global warming mob ignored all these findings and promoted the only 2 that suited them
    •    Researchers reported December 21, 2012 in Nature Geoscience that from 1958 to 2010, the average temperature at the mile-high Byrd Station rose by 2.4 degrees Celsius, with warming fastest in its winter and spring. The spot which is in the heart of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet  beyond the arctic peninsula  - is one of the fastest-warming places on Earth. but it must be remembered that this sheet is not static and is slowly moving into warmer seas all the time

Don't let these facts be selectively promoted and misconstrued by our politicians for the sole purpose of introducing new taxes and policies that are in reality destroying our planet - IE Carbon credits that allow big companies to buy Amazonian rain-forest to off set their tax and then they use it as a toxic waste dump that destroys the forest - These same hypocritical governments hamper the alternative fuel industries due to their loss in fossil fuel industry taxes - Change to alternative fuels is what we want along with a lowering of our cost of living. Real pollution reduction by big business should be rewarded -  not individuals taxed for the air they breath....

More than 20 billion gallons of toxic drilling waste and 17 million gallons of oil have been dumped into the soil and waterways of the Amazon rain-forest -

Chevron discharged more than 16 billion gallons of toxic waste into Amazon waterways

Will dumping mining waste in peat-lands in Indonesia help mitigate climate change?

  1. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2015/11/23/why-are-so-many-americans-skeptical-about-climate-change-a-study-offers-a-surprising-answer/ As a SCUBA diver of 33 years I first noticed evidence of change when diving at El Nido in PPN. The coral, once described as the 57 best dive sites in the world was gone. A graveyard. The answer from the locals was the temperature of the ocean had risen 2 degrees killing the coral. That was 8- 9 years ago. When investigating this it was revealed that half the world's coral reefs have been lost. What a novice sees today and thinks is great is a shadow of it's former beauty. The available oxygen has dropped and as the number of cars (billions) and deafforestatiion fires in Indonesia etc keep occurring the levels of CO 2 have increased. I personally would not want to live in Djkata or Beijing permanently. My Indonesian friends say 100s die every day due to pollution. The cleaner air, cleaner fuels movement has my thumbs up just from a sheer preference point of view. I prefer clean air, gorgeous coral reefs and I don't like breathing the black fine smog from planes either.

    1. Coral flourishes in hotter climates - as does most plant life -(Coral proliferates in Tropical waters - fastest growth rates in waters as warm as 30º C) the historic occurrence of slight temperate rise - and there have been thousands of them BEFORE the industrial era, by as much as 10 degrees (and we still have coral and polar bears and low lying areas-) have resulted in bumper crops and prosperity - Lower temps are what kill off coral and plant life - and result in famine on land - This is according to the ice core and temperature records analyzed over longer periods reveal lager weather cycles- check with your local observatory - were are going through a global cooling period -
PS - I dive too - and a good cyclone , (hurricane) with 'el nino' kills coral that then regenerates it take about 2 years.

  2. Marsh & McLennan, Cantor Fitzgerald/CO2e.com/eSpeed and Aon Corp were engaged in an economic war game scenario with the Naval War College on 9/11. The game involved the use of carbon emissions trading software.

Cantor Fitzgerald/CO2e.com/eSpeed held the patent on software which would later be used in trillions of dollars' worth of carbon emissions trading. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), "a special project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisers, with US IRS 501(c)(3) charitable status, with the [alleged] sole purpose of providing a co-ordinating secretariat for the participating funders and investors, in order to increase economic global awareness of risks and opportunities of carbon emissions' consequences on the climate", was launched on December 4, 2000 at 10 Downing Street in London by UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and UK Secretary of State for International Development Clare Short. The CDP "gathers 534 investors with a combined US$64 trillion in assets under management, in order to increase economic global awareness of risks and opportunities of carbon emissions' [alleged] consequences on the climate".

Carlton Bartels, CEO of Cantor’s CO2e.com, invented and held the patent on the computer-based system for simulated automated carbon trading. Bartels was operating this simulated game; it is alleged that his simulation administrator codes were stolen and the game was hacked into, which took the game from a simulation to a live game. Significantly, Bartels had also participated in a "greenhouse gas emissions trading simulation" hosted by Climate Change Central in Calgary, Alberta on September 5-6, 2001.

Were Marsh & McLennan, Cantor Fitzgerald/CO2e.com/eSpeed and Aon Corp destroyed to eliminate the competition in a future multi-trillion dollar carbon trading market?

    Carlton Bartels
In 2000, the Joyce Foundation provided a grant to Richard Sandor and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management to develop a competing carbon trading software. At the time, Barack Obama was on the board of directors for the foundation. A second grant was made in 2001 and eventually led to the birth of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the only emissions reduction and trading system for all six greenhouse gases and the only operational cap and trade system in North America.

The Obama administration is currently strongly pushing carbon emission policy. While leaning heavily on Congress, they have also instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to declare CO2 a dangerous threat to human health, which will lead to regulation of carbon emissions.

Powerful forces behind the scenes appear to be orchestrating events to set up and profit from a carbon emissions trading system worth trillions of dollars.

    See http://www.abeldanger.net/2010/04/specific-companies-in-world-trade.html and http://911disclosure.blogspot.com.au/2010/03/kyoto-racketeering-mindbox-murder-of.html

As an involuntary medium I learned this from the source. Carlton Bartels was murdered on 9/11 in WTC 1 on the 101 floor. Others claimed his patents. He owned them the above article has been reworked since I originally read it. The software patents went to the Chicago Climate Exchange first (CEO Maurice Strong) then seemed to end up at No. 10 Downing Street. Not sure what has gone on since.

    1. Excellent Comment Margi - Yes though I am not big on conspiracies. some one else pointed out on one of my other blogs that the final patent holders disappeared on the tragic MH370 flight.

  3. This blog needs updating to fit the facts consistent with 2017 ie Antarctic ice shelfs Larson A & B, broken off and Larson C huge crack. Also the comment at foot of this link is realistic fact based science:https://www.carbonbrief.org/guest-post-what-can-climate-models-tell-about-impacts-onepointfive-two-degrees

  4. Link not operating on this blog: copy herewith: "We are currently at > 1.0C above pre-industrial with over 1/2 of our current warming potential being masked by pollution that is a result of fossil fuel consumption. The Arctic sea ice has been rapidly deteriorating far above the projected models for our current levels of global warming and it is understood that the impact of the future reduction of fossil fuel use with greatly increase this impact since those same pollutants (called 'aerosols') affect the Arctic at much greater rates. A recent collaboration study published by over 20 authors from all over the globe, looking at the effects of warming soils showed that we should expect, at a minimum, an additional 50 billion tonnes of carbon emissions from warming soils if we hold warming at 1C above pre-industrial, by 2050. With rapid increases in emissions from these natural sources after this time. Upon reaching 2C the 2100 rates of emissions are comparable to current human-caused emissions of carbon.

The Arctic will lose its sea ice cover approximately 40 years in advance of the models and the rate of additional heat energy absorbed by the earth on an annual basis by the Arctic Ocean will be the equivalent of a doubling of CO2 (~2.3 Watts per meter squared - averaged over the entire earth) except this warming will be located exclusively in the arctic). This will happen when the Arctic is nearly ice free on the Summer Solstice and will occur approximately in 2065.

To have prevented 1.5C of additional warming without these natural feedbacks which are either not modeled (warming soils and frozen soil emissions) or scheduled far in the future from our current global systems (Arctic sea ice) we would have to end all CO2 emissions in the next 10 years and remove over 200 billion tonnes of carbon from the Earth's atmosphere over the next several decades.

To pretend that these feedbacks are not currently in effect, that we are currently warming far above the modeled rates at our current atmospheric GHG levels is a disservice to ourselves and the world.

  5. Imagine Delaware cracking off of the eastern seaboard of the United States, breaking up into little pieces and floating away.

That’s roughly what Antarctic researchers are expecting to see as they watch a rift grow across a huge patch of ice called Larsen C, part of the globe’s fourth largest ice shelf and one of the most quickly-warming areas in the world.

The rift on the ice shelf attached to the northernmost part of the Antarctic Peninsula first appeared in August 2014 and has been growing steadily, including more than 17 miles since December of last year.

When the huge chunk of the shelf finally breaks off — and researchers are all but certain it will — it will be one of the largest ice calving incidents since they began studying ice shelves around the southern continent two decades ago. https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-02-24/researchers-continue-watch-massive-rift-antarctica-likely-create-delaware-sized

By Larry Bell Dr. Christian Schlüchter’s discovery of 4,000-year-old chunks of wood at the leading edge of a Swi...

Other evidence exists that there is really nothing new about dramatic glacier advances and retreats. In fact the Alps were nearly glacier-free again about 2,000 years ago. Schlüchter points out that “the forest line was much higher than it is today; there were hardly any glaciers. Nowhere in the detailed travel accounts from Roman times are glaciers mentioned.”
