Well Marian is entitled to her opinion but no matter what she wants to tell herself the reality is this:
Advanced stuff takes advanced training
- all things are easy when you know how -
but not all people are worthy of learning them -

I take very few apprentices on - and I meet them usually through my workshops - and they prove themselves worthy
1) via their ethics and
2) determination over time -

There are NO SHORT CUTS - I had 2 teachers that gave me traditional training - It is a long process to learn properly.
Patience and commitment are pre-requisites.

Anyone who has ever done any of my workshops knows that the techniques I teach, work! My advanced techniques work just as well - but they have to be learned the right way.

From hard experience, I have learned to only teach these to people who are worthy
- Can you just imagine if someone with the obviously bad attitude that this Marian Mohamoud has, learned this advanced technique, imagine the damage she WOULD definitely do…. ???

- I can't teach irresponsible people because I can't teach them how to be responsible and I cant teach people to use power in a good way if they are not good within themselves
- It takes time to find this out -
Teaching a person with character flaws advanced techniques, can have serious consequences.
(Isn't that what Star Wars is about?)

But I will only teach things that can be used to do damage to those I can trust to be responsible enough not to cause damage - and my trust must be earned and my trust once lost can not be regained.

Religions Worship God Whilst Both Warring Sides Pray To Him

Most people, Muslim, Christian, and atheist alike, are loving normal human beings. We all share the higher attributes of love, compassion etc. 

But, Religions do not. 

Religions can be used to swell hatred and animosity against others with murderous results. Friction between humans can be ugly, especially in war. 

My concern is that any god who advises to kill people demonstrates it is not authentic. 

We, as human beings, know we should not glorify any scripture that declares God, or any wholesome spiritual guide, as an advocate of "Murder." That holds for the Old testament, the Bhagavad Gita or any other aberrant 'divine revelation'.

True divinity is not petty. It is not vengeful. 

The divine does not hate a smaller lesser being, simply because it disagrees with it. A divine being does not punish with hell-fire, people who are disbelievers of any divine truth. The divine has pity on people who torture themselves. The divine keeps a reflection in front of us that shows us that our hatred of others is

ONLY A HATRED OF OURSELVES.

People who commit atrosities in the name of religion really hate themselves so much, they look for outside justification for their spite. They know what they are doing is so despicable they dont want to take responsibility for it themselves.

Here is a great revelation:

The divine finds atrocities atrocious. 

The Divine does not approve of hate crimes just because the are committed in the name of the divine.

The divine does not condone crime, war, murder or hate. 

These things are not divine.
These things are not the problem of the Divine. These things are the problem of those who want to commit them.
If these perpetrators had no, supposedly, god given excuse they would be forced to admit to their own motive. Their vicious hatred of others is a hatred of themselves.

The Divine wants us to behave in a Divine manner.

So we have to logically question any person or misinterpreted book that encourages less than divine behavior in the name of any god.

This should be the test of true divinity.

The mark of people who are truly acting in a "divine" way should be their "humanity."

We have to question why the The God of the Bible and the Torah and the Koran is portrayed by his writers as being so very bloodthirsty and vengeful. The Koran is in fact less war mongering than the other two. Many sura of the Koran speaks of war and killing, yet, commands the faithful to be merciful, forgiving to their enemies, tolerant of religions other than their own, protective of other's places of worship and to behave in a fair manner, with strict rules for just engagement.

By contrast the Bible describes god as being Jealous and Vengeful many times eg:

"The Lord is a JEALOUS & VENGEFUL God; the Lord is vengeful & strong in ANGER."

Naham 1:22 

"When the Lord your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you…you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them…. For they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you and He will quickly destroy you. But thus you shall do to them: You shall tear down their altars, and smash their sacred pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire."

Deut. 7:1-5

The Bible and the Torah are politically genocidal books in essence. They contain more chapters devoted to political conflicts than are devoted to spiritual philosophy.  Both old and new testaments encouraging the eradication of nations that are not the chosen/saved race. 

"Only in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes. But you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that they may not teach you to do according to all their detestable things which they have done for their gods, so that you would sin against the Lord your God." 

Deut. 20.16-18

Revelations see The Messiah slaughter the gathered nations until the blood reaches the horses bridles for 350 furlongs. Why? To establish God's kingdom for the chosen few. Really, what sort of divinity does that? Is this really a prophecy that any decent human being wants fulfilled?

Wars and genocide feature in The Bible and the Jewish texts far more than the Koran - The Koran actually preaches decent and fair treatment of all peoples regardless of their religion. Whereas the bible preaches viciousness even to children:

“I, the Lord your God, am a JEALOUS God, PUNISHING THE CHILDREN for the sins of the fathers for 3 or 4 generations..”
Ex 20:5 

“...Yes. I the lord will give rewards to the one who
GRABS YOUR (enemies) BABIES & SMASHES THEIR HEADS ON THE ROCKS!”
Ps 137:9

Yet, All these religions worship the same god. However, the bloodiest wars in the world have been fought whilst both sides pray to him... 

EVERYONE should be looking at ALL religions and asking:  
"If you really represent the Divine personality,
then WHY are you doing this???

Why aren't religions being a force for divine kindness, peace and unity?

It is time for all religions to attune themselves to the higher divine aspects of being humane.

The Koran does not condone criminal behavior.

It is time for Islamic and Muslim peoples world wide to condemn these actions of those who perform such horrendous crimes in the name of your faith...

Make no mistake - these terrorist are criminals of the worst kind according to Islamic law. For this reason the Koran commands : 

"…And whoever commits injustice among you — We will make him taste a great punishment." (Quran 25:19)

"…and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just." (Quran 5:8)

The Koran condemns murder - these attacks in Paris were murders of innocents.
The Koran condemns rape and compels all Islamic men to protect ALL women.
The Koran condemns stealing other people’s land and their food. As we see in the following verses:

"Beware!  Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim, curtails their rights, burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will; I (Prophet Muhammad) will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment." (Abu Dawud)

"Indeed God, Mighty and Majestic, has not allowed you to enter the homes of the People of the Book(Christian Islamic or Jewish) except by their permission, nor has He allowed you to hit their women, nor eat their fruit ..." (Abu Dawood)

"And if any one of the polytheists (Pagans)seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of God (the Quran).  Then deliver him to his place of safety." (Quran 9:6)

The Quran instructs Muslims to treat non-Muslims courteously in a spirit of kindness and generosity:

"Beware!  Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim, curtails their rights, burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will; I (Prophet Muhammad) will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment." (Abu Dawood)

"If it had been your Lord’s will, they would all have believed – all of who are on earth!  Will you then compel humankind, against their will, to believe?" (Quran 10:99)

Not only does Islam give the freedom of religious freedom to non-Muslims, its tolerant law extends to the preservation of their places of worship:

"(They are) those who have been evicted from their homes without right — only because they say, ‘Our Lord is God.’  And was it not that God checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished  monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of God is much mentioned (praised).  And God will surely support those who support Him (meaning His cause).  Indeed, God is Powerful and Exalted in Might." (Quran 22:40)

Unbiased Western historians acknowledge these facts.  LeBon writes:
‘The tolerance of Muhammad towards the Jews and Christians was truly grand; the founders of other religions that appeared before him, Judaism and Christianity in particular, did not prescribe such goodwill.  His caliphs followed the same policy, and his tolerance has been acknowledged by skeptics and believers alike when they study the history of the Arabs in depth.’

The Koran even insists on fair treatment of non-Muslim enemies in battle
 "Go into battle, but do not go to extremes, behave treacherously, mutilate their dead, or kill children."

"God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from dealing kindly and justly with them.  Indeed, God loves those who act justly.  God only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion – (forbids) that you make allies of them.  And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers." (Quran 60:8-9)

Al-Qarafi, a classical Muslim scholar, describes the depth of the meaning of "dealing kindly" referred to in the above verse.  He explains the term:
‘…gentleness towards the weak, providing clothing to cover them, and soft speech.  This must be done with affection and mercy, not by intimidation or degradation.  Furthermore, tolerating the fact that they may be bothersome neighbors whom you could force to move, but you do not out of kindness towards them, not out of fear or financial reasons.  Also, praying they receive guidance and [thus] join the ranks of the blessed with external reward, advising them in all wordily and spiritual matters, protecting their reputation if they are exposed to slander, and defending their property, families, rights, and concerns.  Assisting them against oppression and getting them their rights.’

"O you who believe!  Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, God is a Better Protector to both (than you).  So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you avoid justice; and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do."(Quran 4:135)

All evidence in Islamic Law points towards protecting the people of the covenant.  Al-Qarafi, another classical Muslim scholar, wrote:
‘The covenant is a contract that has conditions that are compulsory for us, for they are under our protection as neighbors, and the covenant of God and His Messenger, and the religion of Islam.  If someone harms them with inappropriate speech, defamation, any type of harassment, or is an accomplice to such actions, then he has made light of the covenant of God, His Messenger, and Islam.’

It is time for Islamic and Muslim peoples world wide to condemn these actions of those who perform such horrendous crimes in the name of your faith... These criminals are giving Allah, Mohamed and your faith a bad name - Please publicly condemn them or the media will confuse the public. If all good Islamic and Muslim men and women stand together in condemnation of these criminals acting totally in contradiction of the principles of your faith, then you will be truly protecting not only your families but also the reputation of your faith, which these criminals are turning into a fowl stench, rather than it being the perfume of heaven. The Lapis Ritual

Whilst here in Singapore, several of us have visitations from a departed colleague Barrington Vincent Sherman, and we had visions of a ritual based upon the axis of a star and the appearance in our visions of a lapis coloured dragonfly.  For this, and the that fact that our pilgrimage and ritual series to Egypt looms closely upon the horizon and for various other reasons, we were determined to perform the ritual of

'being the Voluntary Emancipation of a certain Exempt Adept from his Adeptship. These are the Birth Words of the Master of the Temple. The nature of this book is sufficiently explained by its title. Its seven chapters are referred to the seven planets in the following order: Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Sol, Mercury, Luna, Venus. Given in magical language an account of the Initiation of a Master of the Temple.
This is the only parallel, for Beauty of Ecstasy, to "Liber LXV".' Also known as The Book of Lapis Lazuli.

Mines, in what is known as the Badakshan area of Afghanistan today, were being worked for Lapis at least six thousand years ago.  This source of Lapis may be the oldest continually worked set of mines in the world, as the same mines operating today supplied the sought-after stone to the pharaohs.  Believed to have occult powers, Lapis Lazuli was often made into amulets and talismans.  In Ur, kings were known to sharpen their swords on it, believing from this they would become invulnerable.  The stone was also used by the Assyrians and Persians for making seals.

The Sumerians believed that Lapis Lazuli contained the spirits of the deities.  In ancient Egypt it was often used as an inscription stone for various passages from "The Book of the Dead" wherein the 140th chapter it states that Lapis in the shape of an eye and set in gold was an amulet of great power.  Egyptians regarded it as the stone of the gods, partly because it reminded them of the starry heavens, but also because, as shown in the Papyrus Ebers, it had medicinal properties that improved eyesight when worn in the form of the Eye of Horus amulet or when powdered around the eyes as many Egyptian did.

Lapis Lazuli was one of the stones in the "Breastplate of Judgement" of Aaron, as described in the Bible.  In ancient times, Lapis Lazuli was known as Sapphire (not to be confused with today's blue corundum variety Sapphire).  Ancient writers such as Pliny refer to "sapphirus" as a stone speckled with flects of gold -- obviously a reference to Lapis Lazuli.
Long ago, Lapis was used to make the pigment called Ultramarine, which literally meant "beyond the sea".  It was used by medieval artists for the blue cloak of the Virgin Mary.  Due to its rarity and expense, today that color pigment is usually now synthetically made.

The Vision and the Voice page 108 states

Additionally, Just a year prior to his death, Raoul Loveday, the Thelemic Saint, had the following poem published in Oxford Poetry, 1922:

A SONG OF TOWN

A summer dragonfly-

Crept from the husk.

Dragonfly, on whose wing 

Run golden wires;

So, down a street pavement,

Lamps throw their fires.

Dragonfly, whose wing is pricked

Echoing the fate of our dear Barrington.

The next day we had a visit from this little fellow… A lapis coloured Dragonfly, who centred it attention upon the focus of our ceremonial work,. Dragonflyies are rarely seen in Singapore and never to so persistently hang around people in a residential area.

Coroner's Inquest Verifies Psychic - Shé D'Montford

Doubted by Authorities at The Time
Proven True by Coroner 2 years later

On the 23 August 2008, the yacht  ‘Blessed Be’ was caught in a storm and was lost. At that time, I was encourage by my husband a retired water police man, to contact the coast guard and give them the very specific information I had picked up using my abilities.

I gave them  Lat/Long well north of where they were looking, stating that the ship had rolled and the keel had snapped off and the ship was floating upside down just below the surface of the water just south east of the lat. of  Bundaberg.

Psychics often do not get feedback confirming their intuitions for many years when they run into the people they have read for, who happily tell them how accurate they have been and how much they have helped. Today, is one of those days. Today, all of these years later, I was sent confirmation of my readings on the lost yacht "Blessed Be". A friend, who knew what I had done, suggested that I look a website (link below) giving the details of "The Coroner's Inquest into the loss of the "Blessed Be"."

The Coronial Inquest was held on 26 July 2010, in regard to the incident where Bruce Glasson and Graeme Woodhouse, were lost at sea on ‘Blessed Be,’ on or around 23 August 2008. They release the facts that "The Blessed Be" had been knocked down in a bad storm. Bruce made contact on the emergency HF channel with Adelaide Radio Station and stated that they had been knocked down and had changed course to 070 degrees, it was not stated whether that is a True or Magnetic reading, there is approximately a 10 degree difference between them. Bruce also stated that they were about 100 nautical miles east of Brisbane and gave his Lat/Long. When the search eventually began that is where they searched. The Corona found that in checking the Lat/Long that they may actually have been actually 166.4 nautical miles due east of the northern tip of Moreton Island North of Brisbane.  Bruce stated that he had changed course to 070 degrees and had put out warps to slow the boat down and was at a speed of 4 knots. This would result in them moving further away from the coast of Australia. Every 10 hours would mean an additional 40 nms. This message was logged by Adelaide Radio Station operator but the search did not start until 5 September 2008, many days after that radio message and the search was started in the wrong place due to a muddle of boat names. This could have placed the yachet as far as another 400 nms north east of its last reported position - exactly as I stated... However, the Seaway Tower received a message back and thought it was ‘Blessed Be’ when in actual fact it was ‘Placid Sea’ that had answered the call. Due to this I was decried as inaccurate and the search started in the wrong location.

Finally the search moved to between Brisbane and Bundaberg, I told them to search just south of Bubdaburg, albeit that the search was conducted with the starting point of where Bruce had transmitted an email to Customs. Apparently they were able to obtain a triangulation via Goldstar communications to identify where that message was transmitted. The Lat/Long given was 35 nms closer to Australia than the Lat/Long given by Bruce over the radio. The rescue Coordination Centre used a drop buoy that shows drift patterns and coordinates the search pattern with the results given. Taking the assumption that the crew has made it into the life raft and is drifting with wind, tide and current. I said they were trapped in a rapidly capsized cabin, which the coroner has also confirmed as the most likely scenario. Looking at where they searched they concentrated closer to the Australian Coast than where Bruce’s radio message was transmitted and covered it very well with up to 8 or 9 planes and radar searches. They skirted the area twice where the yacht ran into trouble using the Lat/Long from the radio message but not as far as I suggested. They were understandably nervous about basing a search so far outside what they were expecting based upon what an intuitive had picked up... Eventually the search was called off.

It is far too easy for the skeptics to embarrass people in authority to not listen to psychics even if they have a track record of accuracy. Unfortunately, a local radio announcer bagged what I was attempting to do and the coast guard, that up to that point had been considering the information, did ceased to treat my recommendations seriously. If they had one, if not both, of the men might be alive and with their families today. As with all bullies, sometimes skeptics go too far and cost someone their life.

We want to thank you for what you have done to assist in the search for the missing yacht “Blessed Be.” It took courage to bring your notes in. Do not be discouraged by the media’s disparaging handling of your assistance, it is appreciated by us.

The information you received was surprisingly correct. Yes, the last official communication from the yacht was150nm north east of Moreton Island and not close off Southport as reported in the paper. Yes, we feel, as you said that the vessel may have gone down well north of Fraser Island and been driven north by the high winds rough seas and prevailing currents. What really surprised us all was the late confirmation of a radio report from the Blessed Be that states, as you had written in your notes, that the vessel did a 180 roll in heavy seas after possibly hitting a submerged but floating container. Since then there have been no more confirmed reports or sightings.

You described the yacht becoming submerged but floating north beneath the surface of the water itself. That was very insightful for someone without nautical experience. Indeed, from that last report, this appears to have been the case, however if that happened in the location you described with the latitude and longitudes you gave us (South of Bundaberg) it will be difficult to find or recover anything unless it is by chance. Occasionally large ships on this rout will dredge up yacht debris on their anchor. Now that the search has been called off that may be the only chance of locating her.

Do not be disappointed, or discouraged by the rude media treatment of your assistance, your efforts are greatly appreciated, as are the efforts of all the volunteers working on this. Keep up the good work.

In an interview, Bob Dylan, a modern spiritual knight, said sometimes he hears the lyrics of his songs on the radio and says to himself "WOW! Did I really write that?" 

We all revisit things from our past and go WOW! 

Indulge me in one of those moments.

Here is  letter to a magazine I was writing for in 2007, which made me feel  "WOW! Did someone really say that about me?" ... 

Re-reading my reply from this distance of 8 years, made me go WOW too. I now can see that it was from a place of rare inspiration beyond myself that occasionally lights the heart of a spiritual warrior with the need to help others.

I hope you enjoy this in the spirit it was shared - not to brag or boast, rather it is from a place of humility that recognizes that every once in a while that we can all raise ourselves to a high point of inspiration that may influence another to be all that they can be and to make this world a better place. -

Hey Shé,
My name is Wanda. I am 17 years of age. Being a Sydney Uni student, and in the habit of checking references, I love all of the things that you write in Spellcraft, as they are so well researched and accurate. I appreciate the wealth of knowledge that you make available for people who are new on the path like me. After checking your stuff so much, for so long I have begun to trust you. I was a little disturbed when I was at a recent pagan event, in Qld and I heard some gossip about you. So I decided to do some further research on you and WOW. I just want to say from what I have found you are a remarkable woman.

Leaving aside all of the magical training you have received, and the fact that you were a poltergeist, a renown professional psychic, one of the few to predict the 9/11 disaster, a successful model, (I saw a picture of you with Elle and you acted with Jessica Alba) and that your family comes from a long line of Barons and you have saints, royalty and gypsies in your family, apart from all of this, you were voted Queensland businesswoman of the year in 1996. You have taken the government head-on, even to court on several issues, Micro-chipping, Therapeutic Goods Regulations, ATSIC, Religious Rights and Uranium Mining, not small issues and YOU WON. Your writings on Laetrile therapy - Vitamin B17 (Amygdalin) have lead to Queensland Health allowing this form of therapy again since 2003 “…for patients with an advanced malignancy where all possible conventional treatment has been exhausted..” You have been taken to court in Sydney for practicing witchcraft. You have been invited to speak at seminars and on radio, on topics as diverse as possible effect of implementation of the GST on individuals and their rights, through to ‘The Council of Churches.’ Most of these you don’t even put on your website because you are too modest. Your qualifications that you do mention do check out. psychology, social work and architecture, at GC Griffith’s, the seminary collage here and overseas. You were “the first” Religious Pagan Marriage Celebrant registered with the Attorney Generals Dept and the first pagan church registered in Qld, BEFORE the witchcraft law was repealed… and it just goes on… You are an author. One of your works of non-fiction is described as “Truly important and revelatory for our day and age,” on several websites. Others find it controversial to say the least. You have traveled around the world, America, Africa, China, Hong Kong, and The Pacific. And whilst doing all of this you have raised 2 children on you own. It sounds like you never had time for a personal life, but your personal life is what you were copping the most flack for and I can see why. You have had relationships with some rather high profile men including a Prince, politicians and captains of industry, gangsters, high ranking police and military officers, and Australia’s most notorious gigolo, said that you are the best sex he has ever had. There have been male models, bodybuilders, doctors, famous writers, actors, radio personalities, rock stars, and tough guy SAS officers, and you have even met the Sultan of Brunei and your cousin is Sophie Monk the pop/film star. Sounds like a magical life to me.

I think if people are going to gossip they should have at least done something similar in their lives first to give their judgments some credibility. From what I have found you are not going to have too many peers who could judge you. People should get used to doing their own research before they believe any thing, otherwise when they open their mouths, and repeat rubbish without knowing the truth, they just look like gullible fools.

I just want to say, I want to be just like you and I want a life like yours! You’re a Goddess!

You are a Goddess too but the most magickal thing in life is to truly be yourself.
Don’t put me on a pedestals or I will fall off.  (I must say that I am impressed with your research skills. It must have taken you ages to dig all of that up on me.)

My half-sister has said that she feels my life seems glamorous to her. But I envy her. She has been married to one man and has had that support, stability, security and constant love to help raise her own 2 boys. This late in my life I will never have the opportunity of having that pleasant domesticity that so many other women fight against. It is my fantasy. You see, Glamour is relative. Obviously the gossipers think its glamorous other wise they wouldn’t mention it. But I lived through it and it didn’t seem very glamorous at the time. Don’t try and copy me or you will make my mistakes, and there have been plenty.

But I would encourage you to be true to yourself and true to your own heart no matter what. That is what will lead you to your own greatness, whatever form that takes.

Develop your own “Paratge.” Paratge is an old Pagan concept of honour that includes a sense of balance with nature and the karma of The Three fold Law of Return and empathy. It was intrinsic to early Pagan beliefs and unfortunately it seems to somehow be lost in the modern Pagan practise. Indigenous Pagan practitioners appealed against the inquisitions on the grounds of paratge. Raymond VI, Count of Toulouse railed at Pope Innocent III “.....the Church at Rome and the preachers are covering paratge with shame. They have cast it down from its high place, and if you do not raise it up, it will vanish forever. If worth and paratge do not rise again through you, then paratge will die - with it the whole world will die. You are the true hope of all paratge and the choice is yours: either you show valour, or paratge dies!” It not really up to any Pope or higher authority.  Its up to each individual.

This is how I have tried to live my life. If there is anything in it worth emulating it is that. If you see something that is out of balance or unjust, and you have the power to do something about it, no matter how small then DO what you can. Even if its just picking up another’s litter, in a park that you like to visit for meditation, if you can correct an erroneous statement about The Craft on an e-group, if its writing a petition in protest to a law change then sending it around the city or on the internet to get it signed, if you can get on to talk-back radio and tell others that we are not being told the truth about Australia’s Nuclear policies, if you can help grant someone their deepest wish, or as you have done here, verbally defending someone who isn’t around to defend themselves, then you have begun to practise paratge by correcting an imbalance and who knows on what great personal adventures it will lead you.

it comes from the same root word as 'season'...

so the battle cry is not about death or glory it means to:

In Praise of Good Men

I have just been responding to the comments of a young attractive girl who was sexually oggled then assaulted by a group of young men - who deserve to be punished for what they did. Just because it wasn't rape does not make their behaviour childish pranks - People who blatantly breach natural ethical codes must be corrected or they never learn what is right.  - They have to learn correct behaviour for the adult world - Men need to be men and responsible for their own behaviour.

I grew up on the Gold Coast  in the 70s wearing string bikinis, skinny dipping and sunbathing topless and to the credit of most men they  do control themselves. I never felt threatened or in danger no matter how I dressed (and I often dressed scandalously. It was great fun.)



Good on you Fellas !!


I am genuinely proud of most men.


The vast majority don't use the excuse of "I can see it therefore I can have it" - Grown, mature, ethical, men know groping is stealing a gift that is not given - only very little boys think they can have everything they see. If you walked into a shop where they were teasing you with goods for sale and just grabbed the display and took it you would be charged with theft. Similarly these boys should be charged for groping this girl as they did not have her permission to take liberties.


I have to say that I am happy to live in a country where I could walk down the street naked and the first response of most men here would be "Are you OK?."

 

Most men are good.

Don't let the brats spoil your attitude for the rest of them.

Every community acknowledges that attacking a woman is a low act. All our souls cry out that it is wrong. Most men rise to the next step, protecting a woman  - no matter what. This is the mark of high civilisation  - Chivalry was the beginning of the progress from barbarism towards strong ethical men who are truly spiritual.



Guys you don't get thanked often enough...

Are we becoming Zombies controlled by our cats? Not exactly but New Scientist magazine asks us to:  "IMAGINE there were a parasite living in your brain – an alien interloper with the power to alter your neurochemistry, manipulate your behaviour and change the way others see you. It might even rob you of your sanity. You are not the only person affected. The creature has taken up residence in the brains of billions of people, and many more are at risk. This is not fiction. This mind-snatcher actually exists"

Parasites passed from cats could be causing schizophrenia in their owners, a scientist has claimed. Jaroslav Flegr says has come to the conclusion because he himself believes he is a living example. He says he has been infected by the parasite and it has altered his behaviour over a period of time.

The parasite, which is excreted by cats in their faeces, is called Toxoplasma gondii and is the microbe that causes toxoplasmosis - the reason pregnant women are told to avoid cats’ litter boxes. Since the 1920s, doctors have recognised that a woman who becomes infected during pregnancy can transmit the disease to the foetus, resulting in severe brain damage in the baby - or even death.

In adults the disease causes flu-like symptoms - and those with a suppressed immune system can become seriously ill with complications such as encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) - but many carrying the latent disease and appear to have no symptoms. However the Toxoplasma gondii parasite is only able to reproduce in a cat's gut. So once  it is inside a host, the parasite then needs to get back into the cat, as that is the only place where it can sexually reproduce. Flegr believes, this is why the infection is making subtle changes to the human brain to manipulate the host's behaviour.

But from his own experience the Czech scientist, 63, claims that over the past two decades his personality has been changing, leading him to behave in strange, often self-destructive ways. 'I wondered what was wrong with myself, ' Flegr recently told The Atlantic magazine how he started thinking about his own theory almost 30 years ago after reading a book by the British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. The book described how flatworms, to help spread the species, are able to take over an ant's body by infecting their nervous system. This then alters the ant's behaviour such that a drop in temperature that would normally force the insect underground, sees it instead climb to the top of a blade of grass and clamp its jaws down on it.The ant is then eaten by grazing sheep and the flatworm's life cycle continues in the animal's gut.He has shown this is similar for the Toxoplasmosis parasite in cats.

After an infected cat defecates, Flegr learned, the parasite is typically picked up from the soil by scavenging or grazing animals - such as rodents, pigs and cattle- all of which then harbour it in their brain and other body tissues. Humans are exposed not only by coming into contact with litter boxes, but also, Flegr found, by drinking water contaminated with cat faeces, eating unwashed vegetables, or, especially in Europe, by consuming raw or undercooked meat. The French, according to Flegr, with their love of raw steak can have infection rates as high as 55 per cent, compared with 10 to 20 per cent of the UK population and 22 per cent of the US population who are estimated to carry the parasite as cysts. Flegr says he then began to notice similarities between his behaviour and that of the reckless ant. For example, he says, he thought nothing of crossing a busy road, 'and if cars honked at me, I didn’t jump out of the way', he told The Atlantic. He says he also refused to hide his contempt for the Communists who ruled Czechoslovakia for most of his early adulthood. 'It was very risky to openly speak your mind at that time,' he says. 'I was lucky I wasn’t imprisoned.' And during time he spent in eastern Turkey, he says he was able to stay 'very calm' during gunfire, while 'my colleagues were terrified. I wondered what was wrong with myself'. He believes that large numbers of humans could be similarly afflicted with toxoplasmosis, and that it explains reckless behaviour in many humans. He says those infected with the parasite are, for example, at greater risk of traffic accidents.

His claims come after a study at Leeds University showed the parasite affects the production of dopamine - the chemical that carries messages in the brain controlling aspects of movement, cognition and behaviour - thus triggering schizophrenia and other bipolar disorders.The parasite infects the brain by forming a cyst within its cells and produces an enzyme called tyrosine hydroxylase, which is needed to make dopamine. Dopamine’s role in mood, sociability, attention, motivation and sleep patterns are well documented. Dopamine is the target of all schizophrenia drugs on the market. Individuals with schizophrenia are also more likely to report a clinical history of toxoplasmosis than those in the general population, other studies have shown. Dr Glenn McConkey, lead researcher on the Leeds University project says: '...our studies will provide a clue to how toxoplasmosis infection - which is more common than you might think – can impact on the development of the condition in some individuals. 'In addition, the ability of the parasite to make dopamine implies a potential link with other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Tourette’s syndrome and attention deficit disorders.'

'We’d like to extend our research to look at this possibility more closely.' It is unclear why the parasite has chosen humans as a host. The effect on rodents, however, is more obvious.The toxoplasma parasite affects rats in a similar way to humans. In studies, infected rodents were much more active in running wheels than uninfected ones, suggesting they would be more attractive targets for cats, which are drawn to fast-moving objects. They also were less wary of predators in exposed spaces, Flegr says. And may actual act in an antagonistic way to cats that results in them being caught and eaten so that the parasite is reabsorbed onto the cast gut. This apparently "crazy" behaviour by rodents makes them more easily caught by cats and the parasite can continue its life cycle. 

Similar findings suggested the parasite makes rats less scared of - and indeed almost attracted to cats. It may be going to far to suggest that all people who are attracted to cats are infected with toxoplasmosis but when attraction turns to unhealthy obsession this could be the case. Joanne Webster, a parasitologist at Imperial College London, also suggest rats would be likely targets for behavioural manipulation from a a parasite that can only thrive in cats. She treated one corner of each rat’s enclosure with the animal’s own odour, a second with water, a third with cat urine, and the last corner with the urine of a rabbit, a creature that does not prey on rodents. 'We thought the parasite might reduce the rats’ aversion to cat odour,' she told me. 'Not only did it do that, but it actually increased their attraction. They spent more time in the cat-treated areas.'

Separate studies have linked the parasite to increased rates of suicide in vulnerable people, according to Teodor Postolache, a psychiatrist and the director of the Mood and Anxiety Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He looked at a raft of studies that included investigations of general populations as well as groups made up of patients with bipolar disorder, severe depression, and schizophrenia, and in places as diverse as Turkey, Germany, and the Baltimore/Washington area in the U.S.
 

Treatment: If you're diagnosed with toxoplasmosis, your GP will recommend the most appropriate treatment for you. This will depend on your health and symptoms. You may be prescribed a combination of pyrimethamine and sulfadiazine, or a medication called azithromycin, which is given on its own.

The toxoplasma gondii parasites need vitamin B to live. Pyrimethamine stops toxoplasma from getting vitamin B. Sulfadiazine prevents the parasites from using it. The normal dosage of these drugs is 50 to 75 mg of pyrimethamine with 2 to 4 grams per day of sulfadiazine. 

These drugs both interfere with vitamin B and can cause anaemia. People with toxoplasmosis usually take leucovorin, a form of vitamin B9 (folic acid) to prevent anaemia. 

This combination of drugs is very effective against toxoplasmosis. Over 80% of people show improvement within 2 to 3 weeks but it usually returns after the first episode if the immune system is not boosted enough to produce antibodies against it.
 

Natural therapists recommend strengthening the immune system to treat  Toxoplasma infections as they are especially difficult to treat because they recur and are never eliminated from the system. Natural remedies that can help fight off this parasite are essential plant oils listed below and a healthy nutritious diet of root and leafy vegetables, fruits, seeds, herbs, spices and oily fish as well as probiotic foods, whey, cottage cheese and fish oils
    •    coconut oil
    •    croton cajucara oil
    •    garlic oil
    •    goldenseal
    •    horsetail oil extracted from the root
    •    Oregon grape root
    •    oregano oil
    •    radishes especially daikon
    •    restharrow oil extracted from the roots
    •    sea salt (pure unrefined)

Personally, I prefer any of the natural anti-parasite herbs especially wormwood and mugwort. Absinthe was originally brewed as a medicine to ride the body of parasites. Seed kernels high in b17 (Apricot & Apple etc.) were traditionally used by Vets for difficult parasite infestations in animals up until three decades ago.

So if you are a cat owner it would be a great idea to include these substances as part of your regular diet as prevention is better than cure.

Magick Brings Joy

Magick is Happening everywhere and there’s a lot of it too...

I was sad to see a joyless academic text, by someone who spends time in the Australian Pagan community, that claimed that magick and the Pagan community, was only a passing trend because of movies like The Craft, Practical Magic and Harry Potter. I am happy to say that these movies came out 10 years ago, but the Pagan community is still here getting bigger and stronger.

Sure, groups come and go, form and then become formless, but there are more of them. And more individuals in the census claiming that their belief system is one of many forms of Paganism. Fashions, cell phones and social media are things that ‘trend’ and go (sorry Myspace) but Magick endures. Magick never faltered - Magick always led. Magick is a basic human need that has been around as long as mankind, that pervades EVERY belief system. The study of the science magick continues on to this day and is growing stronger and it keeps me very busy here and overseas. It keeps many of my friends and peers racing from place to place too and we hardly get a chance to see each other. Yet when someone needs something we make ourselves available. Magickal practitioners are there for others during the sorrows and the joys of life. Ceremonies are required not only for the turning of the wheel of the year but also for the turning of life. Ceremonies need to be performed for birth and deaths. For weddings and heartbreak. For children starting school and leaving home. To create work and to recover from loss of employment. For post traumatic stress after war or victimisation and sometimes for mental illness. However, it is also for the times when there are no dramas and we are just immersed in joy and are grateful to the vast magickal universe that allows us to be living on the jewel of a world at this most interesting time. 

Magick brings Joy. It is the mundane life that is tedious and joyless.

So if I seem a bit slow getting the magazine out, please don't feel neglected... Know that I am busy helping someone somewhere- just as you are too...
And together, the more people we help with magick the more magickal we will make the world.
